Title: Side of road with transmission leak
Post by: Bob Gubbins on June 17, 2021, 09:53:46 PM
2005 patriot thunder vicksburg 42' 525 cat Allison transmission

Ok need some help!

I have transmission fluid leaking on the passenger side just above the frame above the tag axle.

I crawled under but because the hose I think that is leaking is above part of the frame I can tell where it's leaking.

First does anyone know what line would be up there?

I have looked under the bed but it doesn't seem like I can gain access there.  There is a panel by the closet but I think that's too far rearward to be of any help!

I picked up a couple of gallons of transmission fluid and a pump to get it in the resivor got enough in to move to a safer place.

I figure I'm spending the night where I am at this point.

Thank you Bob

I figured out what's leaking it's one of the transmission cooling lines but I don't have wrenches that big with me.  Time to find a shop

If you advise us where you are, someone may be able to recommend a shop.

Near Clearfield PA

I found a shop but the earliest he is able to get me in is Monday afternoon.

We are fulltime so we have been enjoying boondocking in a car pool parking area.  Lol

Under the Private BAC “Members Only” section via the above “Home” tab, Bob, there is a Providers Guide that you might want to check.  Not all service entities are competent for certain repair issues.  An Allison certified provider would be best.  But if it’s just basic hydraulics, a truck shop should be up to the task.

New Castle Truck is only one of two in Pennsylvania, and may not be anywhere near you, but used satisfactorily by a Forum member.  Otherwise I guess all we can say now is try to find a way to have a good weekend in your parking lot.  8). Many here have bin there dun that.

I have our 07 Marquis in PA and have had incredible service from Weaklands Truck Repair.  They have a mobile wrecker service and a location in Chest Springs which is about an hour from you.  They have helped me solve many issues for me out of the Breezewood location.
