Title: Splendide 2000 long shock replacement
Post by: Wayne Tull on June 06, 2013, 04:47:45 PM
The shocks on our Splendide 2000 were no longer doing their job and since the unit still works OK other wise I wanted to replace them. However the OEM versions seemed a bit pricey for this older unit so I found acceptable replacements that are working just fine. I did have to remove the metal inserts at each end from the old shocks and put them into the new ones.

This is what I replaced them with from Amazon.

The Dryer fan was also was making a noise.  It turned out to be the spring holding the floating bushing hadn't been placed with enough force to hold it and had started spinning. The motor shaft showed no sign of damage.

Wayne,

Another thing you can do for the shock is just put a hose clamp on the outside of the shock near were the shaft goes in and out.  Tighten the clamp until you feel some tension on the shaft.  This is much cheaper than new ones and works just fine.  Thanks very much for the information on the fan motor fix.
