Technical Support / Re: water pump issue
« Last post by Fred Brooks on May 08, 2026, 07:27:56 PM »
   Hi Tom,
Sometimes when a water pump is changed, there is air in the supply lines as well as in the pump itself. When the pump is turned on it cannot create water pressure because the pump is "cavitating". To eliminate the cavitation issue, loosen the water line on the "OUTPUT" side of the pump. Turn on the pump. You will hear it start to build pressure and leak water at the loose fitting. Tighten the output fitting and the pump will build pressure and then shut off. Hope this helps, Fred

Technical Support / Re: House Batteries Not Charging

Thanks Scott. I'm not sure if I've been over-thinking or under-thinking this problem. Either way I think that I've missed the obvious problem. I believe that the batteries are bad. I had been thinking that they were only 2-3 years old, but they are older, which clearly explains why they are not holding a charge. I appreciate everyone's help - always learning. Thanks again.

Technical Support / Re: Aladdiin system not powering on

Steve,
Not sure if you've referenced these docs.  The Aladdin section of Coach Assist has an Aladdin Troubleshooting Manual that includes the 04 Monterey and the Wiring section of CA has the 04 Monterey wiring dwgs that include the Aladdin.

Technical Support / water pump issue
« Last post by Tom Pickett on May 08, 2026, 02:36:03 AM »
hi everyone
i installed a new water pump had been damaged because the shop that winterized it did not get all the water out.
The issue when the pump is on we are not getting full pressure getting air in the system.
no leaks system works fine on city water. I believe there is a problem with a swain valve. I have not found and cracks in the pex tubing.
  What do you think
Thanks

Technical Support / Aladdiin system not powering on
« Last post by steve shaw on May 08, 2026, 02:18:02 AM »
We have a 2004 Beaver Monterey Ventura.  We have owned the coach for 6 years now. The Aladdin system has worked flawlessly with the exception of 2 tank sensor replacements, until now.  We took the coach in to have new shocks installed, and when we picked the coach up, the Aladdin system was unresponsive.
No led on the joystick.  no screen display.   there is power to the monitor.  I've checked all the fuses that i can find.  I've tried the reset switch.
There is power in and out of the reset switch and to the (2) +12 pins on the engine bus terminal on the VCM.
There was a post on this forum regarding a sevond source of power to the +12swx pin on the house bus terminal on the VCM in addition to the (2) +12 pins on the bus side.
There is no power to this pin.  Does the power go through the VCM through the bus terminals on the VCM and then out of the +12 swx pin ? or does the +12 swx pin on the house bus require another power source ?
Im trying to determing if I have a VCM that is bad or an electrical power problem before I decide to replace with Silverleaf.
If I replace it with a silverleaf and have a lost power issue, then  the silverleaf most likely will work either

Thanks

Steve

Technical Support / Replacement of the Smartwheel SM209
« Last post by Eric Drickersen on May 07, 2026, 01:49:23 AM »
I had to replace my SM209 unit on my 2001 Beaver Marquis. After looking at options to rebuild the SM209 (which appears to be an issue, since the SM210 is the new and improved version), I ended up buying a new SM210, which to my surprise is still manufactured by IMMI, the company that purchased VIP. I almost made the mistake of purchasing the unit from a reseller for over $700.00, where IMMI sells new units for $450.00. Gian Seviila helped me, he can be contacted at Email: gsevilla@imminet.com, Phone: 847-395-7253

Technical Support / Silverleaf VMS Replacement Options
« Last post by Eric Drickersen on May 07, 2026, 01:42:16 AM »
My VMS320EL screen on my 2001 Beaver Marquis recently went out, which left me with no other option than to upgrade. After extensive conversations with the wonderful techs at Silverleaf, I found I had a few options for a plug-and-play replacement:

The VMS500 is the latest iteration, but the screen is small. Although it is nice a nice unit, it means I would have to fill the gap in the dash where the VMS320 used to live. I almost pulled the trigger on the 500, at about $599.00 but after speaking to the techs, they informed me there were other options.

VMS333: This unit requires a separate screen but can be plug and play adapted with a custom harness ($30.00 from the techs at Silverleaf). I believe it only has one video input and one video output and costs about $1000.00.
VMS350: This unit is similar to the 333, but with multiple video ins and outs. Cost $1395.00

Both are viable options, since I can use the newly installed Sony Xav-9500ES head unit with a 10" screen as the monitor. I ended up going with the VMS350.

I also spoke to a company that partners with Silverleaf and installs the Silverleaf Glassdash, which sounds and looks impressive. The full install costs &7000.00 - maybe someday...

Incidentally, I am installing the Victron GX Touch 70 where the VMS320 used to live in the dash. It fits nicely, though it is slightly less wide than the VMS320, the gap can be easily filled. Since the newer Silverleaf products do not support the older technology on my coach for tank and power monitoring, the Touch 70 supplements the newer VMS350 nicely.

Technical Support / Re: House Batteries Not Charging

To check power at the inverter, remove the red and black caps that cover the large cables on the front of the inverter, take a reading between the two terminals.

When I said, “no power at lug #5”, I should have said less than charge voltage. Even if the inverter isn't charging, at the minimum you should still have battery voltage at lug 4, or 5 if the circuit breakers are not tripped. Also, you should have switched battery voltage at lug 3.

You stated that your “house batteries are not charging while on shore power nor do they charge while driving”. The only common thread between shore power and travel house battery charging is the cabling between the house batteries and the disconnect switch, but if that was bad, you’d have no domestic power in the coach.

Are you sure that your batteries are good?

“I've got a couple chargers on the batteries. Strangely, they are very slowly charging even though we are on shore power, it's almost as if there is still a draw on the batteries.”

Thanks guys. Sorry for the slow response - internet went down at the park we are currently staying. I'm not finding power at any of the lugs. How do I get to the cable coming out of the inverter? The inverter thinks its charging, but it's not. For the time being, I've got a couple chargers on the batteries. Strangely, they are very slowly charging even though we are on shore power, it's almost as if there is still a draw on the batteries. Fortunately, we are only about 5 hours from home and should be able to make it without concern. Thanks again.
