Title: Installing new roof AC
Post by: Fred Cook on May 18, 2022, 08:52:33 PM
Well I just received my new front AC roof unit today.  In the process of taking the old one off, I noticed the four anchor bolts holding it on to the roof were very loose.  If fact, I was able to turn a couple by hand and the other two took little effort to turn with a wrench.  So.... when I put the new AC on the roof, how tight are those bolts supposed to be?

check the instructions from Dometic. Something like 22 in lb. Does your rig have the drain pans to drain the A/C condensate overboard? If so, you should use two new foam gaskets when installing the unit.

No instructions in the box…. Just a warranty sheet. I have completed the installation and tightened the bolts to the where the AC fan duct touches the ceiling duct. It seems to work fine.
