Technical Support / Re: 1999 Patriot Exhaust Brake / Cruise control
« Last post by Brian Shackelford on May 18, 2025, 05:53:52 PM »
Patience requested! I understand this topic has been addressed, and I have done my due diligence. One of the posts stated the exhaust brake solenoid should have been mounted to the top of the air reservoir located on the drivers side, outside the frame rail under the engine access hatch. I have checked that location and the air reservoir is not in that location. I'm assuming the factory wiring for the solenoid would be near the mounting point. My 1999 Beaver has a 98 build date, not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Technical Support / 1999 Patriot Exhaust Brake / Cruise control
« Last post by Brian Shackelford on May 18, 2025, 05:03:58 AM »
Greetings! I've recently noticed that my cruise control and exhaust brake on my Cat 3126 are not working. I have already located the wiring schematic in Coach Assist, but prior to starting any troubleshooting, I decided to start with a physical inspection of the exhaust brake and solenoid. The brake solenoid was located between the firewall and the rear of the engine, but both of the wires were unhooked, with no indication of where they were connected. The schematic is difficult to read, does anyone know where the two wires from the solenoid connect to the coach? Thank you in advance for any assistance..

Also, search the forum for 'MP Filtri', you’ll find several posts related to hydraulic filter clog indicator tripping issues.

I just changed the hydraulic filter and reset the indicator button and now with less than 1 hour of engine run time the button is up again. What could be causing this pressure issue?  Could it be the Wax Valve

Frank, thanks. I will look for the Wax Valve.

I'm glad you mentioned the metal valve handles.  I probably would have ended up with the plastic ones, which, as you said will not work.  Thanks again.
