The parking brake on that motorhome was used by beaver for a very short time they where problematic and the parts are very hard to come by
It would most likely have had a mechanical caliper made by Hayes corporation as a part number LM 100  mounted to that brake disc on the drive shaft which would have had a cable operated by a remote spring brake ( Maxi chamber)

If you go to the coach assist section library you will find a section ( brake) there which has an original brochure with a picture of the caliper.

As for the Maxi brake it was a haidex/ Midland part.with a cable that ran from the Maxi mounted up on the frame rail down to the caliper to operate the caliper.
If yours is missing you could try Visone RV salvage at (606) 843-9889
As a side note the earlier model year patriots used the same system but had an more common drum brake mounted to the rear of the transmission housing at the drive shaft.

Any air brake pros specific to a 1999 Marquis?   We r trying to prep for a 7500 mile trip thru the Rockies and our local diesel shop is struggling with the brake system.  Our parking brake does not work whatsoever when applied. That's was the primary purpose of dropping it off, outside of fluid & filters.

They went through the adjustment procedure provided by Meritor.  Apparently this is a Meritor brake system installed on Beavers for 3 years or that's what he is telling me.  He says it is a stange, antiquated setup even for 1999.  I'm not familiar with Meritor or really know much about the brake system in these coaches as this point.   I was told it appears that they entire brake system lines are new and were completely replaced at a painstaking effort or that's what he believes.  The original owner of this rig, was great at maintaining and storing this thing.

Also, I will say that is a VERY good diesel shop that is well respected and does a ton of big rig and diesel pusher RV related work.  The owner of the shop is troubleshooting this thing personally for me and is certified across various air brake systems.   This is NOT his 1st rodeo but certainly his 1st Beaver rodeo!  Lol.

What's strange to me is that I had noticed there is a large diameter rotor mounted on the driveshaft when I installed the Air Force One system. I'm familiar with that system as a very good e-brake setup on big trucks.  However, there is no caliper installed against the rotor.  Almost as if when they made this Marquis they used a driveshaft from "old" inventory.   Wondering if maybe it was removed at some point but not sure why anyone would do that.

Any suggestions or insights you might would be appreciated.  I'm a bit fearful we won't be able to resolve this without tribal knowledge.

I also purchased these devices and was disappointed that they were not spring steel.  When I installed them they lost tension and they do not fix my wiper problem.  Thanks for the input.

VIN:4SLC0DN35V1151313
CAT 3126, 230 hp. Diesel engine, Allison Trans
Miles: 64500

For those of you that have been to Beaver Rallies in the past, you may have know Pete (God Rest His Soul) & Mary Allice Willhite. They were the owners that we bought the unit from. Anyone that knew them, know how well they kept their coach.

It is a beautiful coach both inside and out. It would be a great coach for the persons that know the Beaver product and is mechanically inclined, and able to do a lot of the work themselves. A great value for those looking for a luxury coach at a bargain price. When not in use, it is kept in a covered storage facility.

We have done a lot of work in the 18 months we have owned it: New luxury mattress, 6 new Goodyear tires, new power converter, and all new batteries. Recently serviced, new air and fuel filters, new alternator (engine), new a/c compressor (engine), belts & hoses.

It is also equipped with a Roadmaster towbar. We set our 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sport up to tow behind the unit. It can be sold as well if the buyer is looking for a tow-n-go package. The Jeep has 45k miles on it, most of those are tow miles. It is also equipped with the RVi Brake 3.

Coach is very clean, immaculate interior.

These windshield wiper huggie springs worked well for me to put more pressure on the windshield.

On a related note:  I would like to replace the wiper arms on my 2002 Marquis.  The wiper blade on the passenger side doesn't hit the windshield on most of the bottom half.  I think the spring in the arm isn't strong enough anymore.

Technical Support / Re: I cant find the shut off for a water drain

  Mike,
On page 2 of your owner's manual, it shows a picture of the water compartment with an assortment of service valves. One of the valves it shows is the freshwater tank fill valve. It is used when you are connected to city water. The issue could the valve is partially open just enough to continue to fill the tank. The other choice is the internal silicone seal is worn out inside the valve. Some Ace hardware stores carry these valves. It is a 3-way valve. The inside seal can be changed from the outside by removing the knob then the serrated cap under it. Be careful to check the orientation of the valve internal seal.
Hope this helps, Fred

Jon,

I am not sure what kind of access you have as our coaches while still Beavers were made by different manufacturers.
On mine like yours the plywood under the dash is one solid piece and not easily removable.

My coach has a cavity under the dash that is accessible by removing the front aluminum panel on the front under the windshield, or from underneath behind the bumper area.  My generator is on a slide in the nose of the coach and extends straight out, but access to the wiper attachments is easier with it left in. Long arms help.

I think you would be better off disconnecting the generator and extending it out (and supporting it) so you could get above it to work on the wiper mechanicals.  Whatever approach you take, please keep us informed as to what works and what does not so the rest of us with 2006 Monterey's can benefit from your experience.  We will all likely have to go there at some point in the future.  Good luck.
Richard
p.s.  Be aware that the thick plywood segment in front of the firewall and dash is a structural support for the windshield and front cap.  Be careful that you do not diminish that structural support.

I posted this question on the "Beaver Motorhome Fans" Facebook Group.  One person said that he was able to reach his wiper mechanism by going through the dash.  In his case, he found that removing the defrost vents exposed some screws.  Removing these screws allowed him to remove that padded section of the dash.  Then he cut into the plywood and created a trap door allowing him access.  I removed one of my dash defrost vents, unfortunately I do not see any screws.  I'm hoping there's a way to access it all via the dash since it is the passenger side wiper that is messed up, which is in the area above the generator.
