Title: Power Cord Maintenance
Post by: Fred Brooks on August 20, 2019, 01:06:06 AM
   Greetings,
Just thought I would throw this out there for your consideration. Many of us are depending on our 20 year old coaches for solid 120 volt supply inside. A common thing that I have run into is the shore cord plug. This plug gets some serious abuse just by the nature of it. If you own a Glen Dinning power reel, you need to take a look at the "stop collar" about 12" ahead of the plug. This collar is the devise that turns OFF the reel when retracting. They have a tendency to fall off and get lost. If that happens, now the plug is the stop device. Once you see red, black, white, and green wires showing at your plug the end is near. If you loose connection on the white wire (neutral wire) could be $3000.00 to $5000.00 damage.
If your coach needs a new 50amp plug, buy one that has the built in handle so you can get a Grip.
