Hi all
I have an 06 Marquis Jade.
Having the chassis, aquahot and generator serviced and the tech brought up an issue with the generator. Here is what he said " the starter only engages momentarily. They inspected the the wiring at the back of the unit. All looked good. Chassis batteries were fully charged. However they attached a battery charger and checked voltage. 12.7v."
They are recommending or saying I needs to go to a Cummings servicer. Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.

Steve,
Am I correct in that the generator turns over a couple of times and then quits? Did they attach the battery charger to the DC voltage terminals at the generator or somewhere else? Did they monitor the voltage at the generator terminals when trying to start it. Reason for asking is that it could be a poor connection in the wiring from the batteries that can't handle the current demand. It the battery charger was connected directly to the generator inputs it could be an internal generator issue.

Thank you for the response. I will check with the servicer and see.

Thank you for the suggestion. Turned out to be a very week ground. Installed a new ground and now the generator starts beautifully now. Appreciate your help.
