Title: No cable TV
Post by: Jason Worman on April 09, 2022, 04:15:52 PM
Hi All,

So we are staying in Winchester Bay Rv Resort, I have coaxial cable plugged into pedestal and plugged into cable inlet on coach and get no signal thoughts? I have the old combo phone cable inlet, do I need and adapter?
Thank you

Jason

Jason,
Have you ever had cable working in your coach?
Couple of possible causes;
-your booster is set to antenna instead of cable. If it has no cable selection, turn it off.
-if you have a digital TV, you need to do an auto program to get the TV to recognize the channels. Most parks now have digital rather than analog cable signal.
-bad coax from the pedestal to coach or no signal at pedestal.

Steve,
I did some troubleshooting, hooked cable directly to TV got a signal. Ran cable up to coaxial splitter in coach and got signal. So either outside coaxial cable inlet is bad or internal wiring from cable inlet to front of coach is bad. I did hit selector switch to cable. Thank you for responding, to replace the original outside cable inlet is 130.00 on Amazon.

  On the TV antenna menu, Hi-lite "cable" then do the channel search and make sure your Booster is turned off as Steve suggested. Another issue is everything is digital and your coach was manufactured with RG-59 coax cable. You may resort to your first direct connection that brought results. Fred
