Last year I bought a Girard airspeed sensor to replace my broken one on top of the motorhome. Thus far I have not needed it to work. However, Yesterday the wind was blowing the awning all over the place and it did not retract automatically like it should. So I experimented by using a hairdryer to turn the little turbine on top of the coach at high speeds and it did activate and retract. This is unacceptable, at thoes high speeds the awning would be destroyed. I called Girard and they said I needed to adjust the switch inside the motorhome to set the sensitivity lower. Problem is, there is no adjustment wheel or a way to adjust on that little switch that I can see, it’s nothing more than a small rocker switch. Anyone know how to adjust the switch or where I can get a switch that can be adjusted for sensitivity?

Fred, Do a search here for ' wind sensor adjustment' Randy Stephenson laid out the procedure in his July 17, 2017 post

Hi Fred,
There is a control box approx 6" by 4" in the overhead cabinets behind a panel above the passenger seat. Remove the cover and you will find a potentiometer for the wind speed. You have 4 choices. Yours may be turned all the way up. Enclosed is a screen shot of what it looks like. Hope this helps, Fred

Thanks Fred.. I opened the area you talked about and the only thing there is an outlet box with the switch to the awning. The wiring appears to be coming directly from the air flow sensor to that switch. So, apparently the control box you were talking about is not there or maybe it is some place else between the sensor and the switch.. Maybe a previous owner did something with it, I don’t know. Where would I be able to get another control box you describe? Thanks

Fred, do you know what?? I just found that box you were talking about and it is behind the CMP. There does appear to be in adjustable knob there. The only problem is there are no markings there to go by so I don’t know which way to turn the knob or even how far. Any suggestions?

Hey Fred,
Depends on your coach being built on a Monday morning or a Friday afternoon! Glad you found it, Here you go.
