I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice on removal of the false bottom on the overhead cabinets. Amongst other things I must replace the 110 v outlet above the stove, below the microwave. Thanks in advance.

The cabinets in our coach are lined with a carpet-like material that effectively hides any screws. Search around using a butter knife (don't tell the wife!) or similar to pry up the carpet and discover the screws. Another Beaver extra; Other Rv's I've owned use staples to hold down the false bottoms (and no carpet liner).

Mine were also screwed down, usually the screws are in the corners and maybe in the center of the cabinet on a wide cabinet. A 90 degree pic took is useful in getting the plywood base up. I usually just wedge it into one of the screw holes at an angle and pull up.

Thank you Bill & Carl. I usually look for the most difficult way of doing somethings. I automatically assumed it was attached from the bottom and worest case scenario countersunk into the side pieces.
Unfortunately it still might mean removing the microwave to reinstall that electrical box.

Hi Bob,
The duplex receptacle is replaced the same as in a house. Remove the cover and then the top and bottom screws and the duplex will just pulls out. Make sure the inverter is also turned "off" so you don't get bit. Black wire goes to the gold screw and the white goes to the silver screw. Hope this helps, Fred

Thank you Fred. You make it sound so simple. In addition to the awkward location the wires attached to the box are barely long enough to attach to the outlet and the little tabs that retain the box to the cupboard are broken. With your encouragement I will persist. Thank you.
