Title: Inverter Receptacles
Post by: William Walker on December 16, 2020, 01:05:19 AM
I have a 2006 Beaver Patriot Thunder. it has a Magnum MS 2812 inverter. Does anyone know which power receptacles do not run through the inverter? I believe the one the washer/dryer does not but I am looking for any others. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Bill,
We don't have an 06 wiring diagram set in Coach Assist but you will get a pretty close idea by looking at the 04 and 07 Patriot wiring diagram sets. See the first few pages (~2-8) in the 04 diagrams and pg 116 in the 07 diagrams. Coach Assist is on the Club web site.

William, the best way to find out which outlets run off of the inverter is to disconnect from shore power, turn or make sure the inverter is on. Take one of those little 3 prone circuit testers and plug it into every outlet in the coach. On each outlet that lights up, mark it with something. I put a 1/4in. round yellow sticker them. It takes all the guess work out of it for future reference. Marty

Bill,

The diagram that Steve suggested in the 2007 Patriot Thunder Wiring Diagram is identical to the AC wiring diagram in the 2006 hard copy set that came with our coach. In fact, with few exceptions most of the 2007 Patriot Thunder Wiring Diagram is the same as my 2006 hard copy set.

If you look at the AC breaker panels (above the toilet for our floorplan), the panel on the right with the 50-amp dual breaker is the main AC panel. Nothing in this panel is powered by the invertor. The sub-panel on the left is the invertor panel and everything in this panel is powered by the invertor.

On our coach, the only interior AC receptacle that I have discovered that is not powered by the invertor is the washer/dryer. According to the diagram, if you have the optional Insta-hot and/or dishwasher, they are also not powered by the invertor.

As Scott adeptly notes, if you look at your two AC breaker panels, one should be 50 amp and one 30.  On our coach, they are side-by-side and the last breaker on the 50amp box goes to the inverter;  then that circuit appears as the first breaker on the 30 amp box.  Everything identified in that 30amp box is off the inverter, therefore, so hopefully the breakers on both boxes are clearly marked for you.  The diagrams in Coach Assist that Steve refers to should clarify your outlet circuits, as does the one there for our ‘06 Monterey which probably is similar.
