I own a 2006 Monterey.  I have an issue with my air system and would like any help diagnosing the root cause.  When I start my engine, the air pressure in the system (according to the dash gauge) will not inflate no matter how long I leave the engine on and idling.  Even turning on the Fast Idle doesn't help.  However, if I increase the rpm's to ~1500 and hold it there, the pressure in the system slowly increases and inflates to full pressure and sneezes after a couple of minutes.  While I am driving, the system behaves normally; the pressure slowly drops to ~90 psi and then pumps back up to ~130 psi.
I have been told that this could be an issue with the air pressure governor.  Is this a likely cause of this behavior?  If so, how can I find out who the manufacturer of the governor is and how to obtain a replacement?  If this isn't the likely cause, what other bad actors might there be?
 Thanks,
 Joe D.

When did you service your air dryer last?

I had the air dryer filter replaced last summer as part of my normal yearly service.

				Joe,

Your air governor is the likely problem. About $20.00-$40.00 for a new one. Fairly easy project to replace. Bendix makes them along with some others. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/TWRH284358?cid=paidsearch_shopping_dcoe_google&campaign=GSC-Towing&campaign_id=8911645606&adgroup_id=106416389246&adtype=pla&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIr8Sny5ir7wIV-z6tBh0eaAqTEAQYASABEgIRbfD_BwE& Hope this helps.

				Thanks, Frank,
I'll order one and install it when the weather here in Colorado improves.  I'll let you know how it works.
