Hello I am looking at updating my Headlights to LED i have heard that they are out of a 2006 Ford F150 if that is correct are aftermarket replacements a plug & play? On the rear tail lights has anyone found a direct LED replacement as mine are getting dull? My Coach is a 06 Thunder any help would be appreciated
Thanks

The headlights are 04-08 F150. Lots of nice options with DRL strips etc on EBay etc and they are cheap.
I have not found LED tails despite looking everywhere including Europe. They are Hella lamp housings. I’ve cleaned my housings and tried LED bulbs in them 1157 and 1156, and the bulbs do not work flawlessly even with current adjustment devices or resistors. I gave up. Let me know if you find LED replacements that work.

I can’t help with the LED issue but the dull tail lights sound like mine.
I clean ours yearly with White Diamond metal polish. It sounds harsh but this is one of the specified uses and it works very well. It takes one cloth to apply and a clean one to buff. A single headlight takes less than 5 minutes. Marker and tail lights even less.
The polish is available at most auto parts stores here in the states.
Hope this helps

The Hella 8982 are supposed to be a the same dimensions and possibly a direct replacement for the old Hella 5603 but they bolt in from behind as apposed to through the face as the old 5603s did they also don't offer a backup light in the 8982 led. I personally have no experience with them, it would be best to contact the distributor first before ordering to confirm .
The Hella 8982 led

On the original hella 5603 lights hella used a special bulb holder which clips into the lamp they are hard to find .
The dual filament bulb holder can still be bought as it was used by Volkswagen in their 1985 to 1991 Vanagon

Thanks Eric I will check it out I am surprised that Beaver doesn't know what our rear lights came out of?

I believe Beaver used the hella 5603 for several years as my 1997 Patriot uses them but why they used an off shore company like Hella baffled me.
The lights themselves seem to be off the shelf pieces but what they are originally designed for I don't know ( the clue may be in a German vehicle as that is where Hella is from).
Good luck

Paul,
I'd be interested in knowing what kit you used for your LED headlights.
As for the taillights, there have been several conversations on BAC regarding taillights for 2006 & newer Beavers.
A search for "Hamsar 86200" will give you a starting point for information regarding taillights for your PT.
