Title: Water Pump Replacement
Post by: Bill Heffernan on October 01, 2021, 12:28:01 AM
Our water pump is shot. I've reviewed other posts and can see that our pump is a Remco 55Aquajet ARV, however I'm baffled as how I can get to it? It appears to be on the backside of a panel behind the fresh water hose and other hoses in the service center. What am I missing? I read that it should be a simple replacement - which it appears to be if I can get at it. Thanks!

Bill
If yours is like mine the access is from the forward adjacent bay.

Slide the cargo tray fully out the passenger side and enter from the driver side.  There are bypass doors in the rearward bulkhead and the fresh water pump is just inside.  Replacement should take 20 minutes.

Thanks for being there for Bill, Keith.  It’s always great when an experienced member has basically the same coach as a new owner and helps with multiple issues.👍🏻

We have a 2004 Marquis Sapphire.

The water pump, water filter, Red Hat valve, and tee/shut off valve for the ice maker water supply are all in the shadow box located in the rear bulkhead between the water bay manifold and the basement storage forward of the water bay.  To access the shadow box, open the basement door foreside of the water bay door on the street side of the coach, look inside on the vertical bulkhead to the immediate right.  The shadow box is about 15" high by 24" wide by 7" deep and is only about one foot from the outside wall of the coach.  The shadow box is covered by an easily removed door.  Get a kneeling pad and it's an easy reach from the ground outside the coach into the shadow box.

Now is your chance to get a water pump that will perform more to your liking, for example, more/less pressure, more/less flow volume, etc.

Bill,
If you need a new Aqua Jet pump, suggest you not use Amazon. I had one go bad within the warrantee period and called Aqua Jet. They would not honor the warrantee since I purchased it from Amazon. They stated that they did not have a contract from Amazon as they found Amazon's terms unreasonable. Thus Amazon was sourcing the pumps from resellers which voided the  Aqua Jet warrantee. Amazon was no help telling me to contact AJ. Unless this situation has changed, a pump from Amazon effectively has no warrantee.
