I am considering the purchase of a motorhome in Las Cruces, NM which has a C-13 engine. I would like to hire a certified Cat mechanic with the correct computer soft ware to plug into the engine to determine the condition of the C-13. Does anyone know such a mechanic in or around the Las Cruces area? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Some ideas to consider. I have no personal experience with any of them.

This place is in El Paso which is not too far away. May give them a call and see what it would cost to have them come and plug their CAT computer in. Fred

Call Dave Atherton if he is close by he can do the job, he could also a tell you who would check it out for you. FYI he is on our web site "Ask Dave"

Albert, good morning I can assure you the caterpillar C-13 is a very good engine and very trouble
free. If you are going to be at the Beaver Rally in the desert in January I can put on my Caterpillar
ET to your engine. The engine ECM readout and printout will give you a complete history of your engine
Including the build date and test specs, technical bulletins etc. last do be afraid of this engine buy it.

I think what Dave meant to say is "DONT BE AFRAID OF THIS ENGINE BUY IT"

Eric, thank you very nice of you to correct me. Dave

Call Rush in Los Cruces, see if they had a Cat tech, I've put 80K on my 06 C 13 and it is just really starting to run, don't expect much on the mileage side, I get 6 mpg, but I can say that I've never be passed going up a steep grade by any other class A motor home.
