Title: Thermostats won't work in furnace mode
Post by: Gregory J Dugre on December 27, 2021, 01:09:54 PM
The Hydro Hot works but the thermostats won't turn on the kick space heaters. The thermostats control ,heat pump, AC, fans. There seems to be no communication between the thermostat and the kick space heat exchangers. I get plenty of hot water just no heat. Are there schematics available for  the hydro hot system? My system has a main control board in the bay with the boiler that seems to control the zones. It shows 5 zones with LEDs for each zone and none are lit. It shows diesel burner status normal and no faults.

Our floor-level furnace heaters have HI/LO/OFF fan switches - two in zone 1 controlling three floor-level fans, one in the bathroom controlling one floor-level fan, and one in the bedroom controlling one floor-level fan under the king bed.  If your coach has these switches, then those may be in the OFF position.

    Greg,
Have you replaced the front air conditioner recently? There is a dip switch setting that has to be turned on that may have been overlooked. (The setting is "furnace") The thermostat must be set to "gas heat" and not electric. Sometimes there is an "offsetting" that controls the various heat exchangers and you have to choose between "high and low" settings. Inside the Hydro hot control there are 10amp fuses that power each zone but not likely that all would fail at once. Hope this helps, Fred

The only changes I've made to the coach since the thermostats stopped controlling the furnace is to add USB chargers in the bedroom by tapping into the docking lights 12 volt power and change the radio in the dash.

Don't know which thermostat you have but here's reset procedure for 5button comfort control.

16. SYSTEM RESET Comfort Control (CCC 5-button thermostat)
a. Turn the ON/OFF switch to “OFF” position.
b. Simultaneously depress and hold the MODE and ZONE
push-buttons while turning the ON/OFF switch to “ON”.
FF should appear in the LCD display until the MODE
and ZONE push-buttons are released.
c. When a dip switch is turned on or off after initial configuration,
a system reset will need to be done before the
Comfort Control CenterTM will recognize the updated selection.
