Hi all, A complete newbie here. Purchases a 2002 Marquis Amethyst this fall just in time to put it into storage . Snowed the next day. Like to do as much maintenance as I can. Asked my neighborhood shop what grease they used to grease the S cams and slack adjusters. Didn’t like their answer. Shell Gadus S2 U1000 2 seems to be hard to come by. Maybe it’s old school. What greases are available today that people are using ? After all, it’s 20 year old technology. I worked in the oil field on Alaska’s North Slope, and saw a lot of advances in lubricants in the last 30 years.
Respectfully,
Mike Sulley

Hi Mike, welcome and congratulations on the new coach.
We had a 2002 Marquis. It was a great rig and still on the road last I heard.
We had the Meritorious brakes that require clay base grease and when a shop had used high temp silicon a specialty brake shop pulled them off and apart to clean it out. They were adamant about this causing multiple fires for them.
I seem to recall ordering direct from Meritor. I know it wasnt hard to find or too costly.

Mike,
Do a search on the Forum for "clay based grease" You'll find a number of members that bought considerable quantities. They many have some available.
