Title: 1996 Beaver Savannah, What Type of Hydraulic Fluid
Post by: Malachi King on June 05, 2022, 07:56:55 PM
Hello All,

Can anyone tell me what type/weight of hydraulic fluid to top off my reservoir? I've looked through all the manuals and it's not listed. I found the filler number, but no luck with the fluid. Thanks!

I use Dexron III or higher in both hydraulic reservoirs - for the living room slides and hydraulic leveling reservoir under the front entry step, and the power steering reservoir back in the engine compartment.

If the fluid is red, then it is probably Dexron ATF. If clear then a little more research to determine what they used in that year vintage.

We had a 1998 and they used Dextron in that year.

My 1998 Savannah has Dexron 3 embossed into the reservoir. It's hard to see if you don't look for it.  Yours may be the same.

Chevron MD3 seems to keep mine happy.
