Title: Slide Out Hydaulic Cylinder

Our dual action Kitchen Slide Out Cylinder is leaking at the seal on our 1997 Patriot. Any tricks or suggestions on replacing, or if it can be rebuilt?

If all else fails try a John Deere or Caterpillar dealer they rebuild hydaulic cylinders all the time.

In some areas there are aftermarket rebuilders they should be listed on the net.

I had to have one replaced on my 99 Pat Thunder.  Was done at authorized Monaco/Beaver service in Arizona.
Suggest calling Monaco or Bend Beaver Service, Oregon.

Sorry I need to be clearer.
I am in FL and have a mobile diesel mechanic (we go to the same church) that used to build hydraulic systems for equipment, and he is excellent.  He has a source for the cylinder. Just wanted tips that may help in the change/rebuild.

If you replace the cylinder, you could have a problem I will explain. Many years ago mine was replaced (supposedly with the factory original) and my slide would not fully retract in by about 1/4" or so.  98 Patriot 37' Ticonderoga.

The crew at "Bend Equipment" who were prior workers on the Beaver factory floor knew exactly what to do. They extended the slide, dropped the yoke end of the cylinder, removed the yoke piece, shortened it 1/4" and it has been perfect since.  The bottom line is that the cylinder was a bit too long.

I will mention it to my mechanic, as we are going to do it later this week.  We got back from a trio, and the leak is allowing the slide to ease a bit.

Pulled the cylinder today and it is resealable. We ended up with a rear brake job as well with new rotors. It made the cylinder kind of minor.
