Title: Hydro-Hot removal from 02 Patriot
Post by: Jack W Hannah on October 31, 2022, 10:39:47 PM
My '02 Patriot is equipped with a HH M/N HHE-500-06M. The tank is leaking which will require removing the entire HH unit from the coach. Is it necessary to take the unit out the back, thru-the-rails, or will it come straight out of the door opening provided we remove the door/frame assembly?
Any additional suggestions/comments will be appreciated.
Thank you,

Jack, our HH tank is leaking as well and curious who is doing the removal ? Also Aqua Hot tech support indicates  we can add distilled water as a temporary stop gap or increase the ratio of water to boiler antifreeze to get by. I am also recapturing the leak as it exits around the exhaust below the HH. In checking with Joh Carrillo the new tanks are $ 2900 and he reccomend going with a entire  remanufactured unit if you can find one. Otherwise it is 3 to 4 weeks turn around from Aqua Hot in Colorado.

Just had our tank replaced, same model, same coach.  After they take the covers off and disconnect water, coolant, fuel and electric it will slide easily out the front.  Need to remove the struts on the door. Replaced it with a HHE-600-06M (?) with the normal size radiator cap.
I have a fairly new cap for the old tank if anyone needs one.
