The Generator on our 1999 Marquis will not provide AC power to the coach. If plugged in to a 30 amp shore power the AC powered items such as the microwave work and the Coach monitoring panel shows 110V AC to both legs. If I unplug the shore power and run the generator no power is shown on the monitoring panel and the lights on the inverter panel are not lit.
The coach has been sitting since February but I have tried to keep the batteries charged. I normally turn the master switches above the batteries off. Not sure if this is a problem but recently I plugged into shore power with the master switches off and then turned on the master switches.
Reading the owners manual I came across statements about the transfer switch. Not sure where its located or if this has anything to do with the problem.
Any suggestions on what to do next would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The first thing to check is the breaker on the generator to make sure they aren't tripped.

Stick with the simple stuff first, as Eric suggests. Your transfer switch seems to be ok, as you have shore power when plugged in. The transfer (tx) switch operates in generator priority mode, that is, it will select power first from the generator, then it wiil 'transfer' and take power from your shore power connection when you plug in. So, its default condition or mode is to take power from the generator.

Thanks so much Eric and Bill.
Eric you were correct the circuit breaker on the generator was off. Have a feeling a cat or other critter was probably laying on top of the generator and in getting there it tripped the switch. Switched it on and generator is now producing AC power.
Thanks again to this forum, have a great Thanksgiving

Oh, how we wish all our "repairs" were as easy as flipping a switch!

Don’t ya just love them critters? They sure enjoy the warm top of our inverter.
$$$$.
Count blessings if all they did was trip a switch. 🫤
