Title: hurricane heater exhaust
Post by: John Burt on September 13, 2011, 01:18:30 AM
We are trouble with the exhaust pipe on our hurricane heater.  The pipe is broken, and trying to figure out how to replace it.  Anyone ever have this problem?  :)

Where did it break at near the heater in the middle or at the end?  It is a 1 7/8 pipe so it can be purchased at auto parts stores or at a muffler shop.

John,
You did not say what model coach you have. However on most of the Hurricane heater exhaust systems on Beaver coaches the point that fails is the elbow located just below the heater. This elbow is not a standard exhaust part, but it is actually a copper plumbing elbow that you will have to purchase at a large plumping supply store, because most small plumbing supply stores do not carry copper  elbows above 1 1/2 inches.

http://rvlotsales.com/ Beaver Dan is a full timer that sells RV lots but did a hurricane exhaust replacement some years back. Posted pictures and how he did it in stainless. HE may have some pictures and ideas as his fix must be 5 plus years old.
