Title: Trip not going well
Post by: George Frudakis on September 03, 2023, 12:09:35 AM
Left Florida and headed to California.
1. One of my new headlights has power but will not light up.
2 While running down the road I put the engine break toggle in the middle so as not to have the engine break when I let up off the gas, regardless it still comes on when I lift the peddle.
3. Now the AC will not start with the generator running. It was working and I shut it down but did not turn off both thermostats, then Later, being by myself and not wanting to stop I turned the generator to turn both ac on. Now they will not turn on.

Any ideas to get the AC running it is hot here in Alabama.
Or any suggestions on 1 and 2

I found this on how to reset the thermostats but I am not sure this reset method is for your type of thermostat.

Thanks for the info. I tried it and it still doesn't turn on it, like no power to the AC. The ac leg 1 and 2 show no power or off. Do you know how to turn the AC legs 1 and 2 on? Mabe that is the problem

It could also be the transfer relay. Start-up amperage for each air conditioner is 54 amps. If you started the generator with the thermostat on stand-by, you transferred 108 amps thru the contactors and relay.

George
Starting the genset with a load in place can be hard on the generator.  A large load like 2 a/c is a no no at least from what I read before.  As Bill said check the breaker on the generator.  Next I might disconnect shore power and run the gen and check for power but turn the thermostats off before anything.

In Beaumont TX. setting in a hotel trying to find out why my coach will not run and as you would know it, I get a call. front fright liner repair shop, " Did you know that your rearview mirror is leaning? I got in my car and went down to their shop and the whole mirror in broken. I called the towing company but no response. I going to stop payment tomorrow until they take care of the mirror.  I may fly home until this is all cleared up and my coach is running. Can't wait to be on the road again.
 STILL LOVE MY BEAVER
