WE HAVE A 2005 SANTIAM AND NEED TO REPLACE THE LIVING ROOM CARPET. OUR ISSUE IS WHAT TO DO WITH THE CARPET FLAP ON THE LIVING ROOM SLIDE. CAN WE REPLACE THE CARPET WITH HARD FLOORING AND REMOVE THE FLAP OR DO WE NEED TO STAY WITH CARPET? DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE DOING THIS?
ALSO HAS ANYONE REPLACED THE OUTSIDE EXTERIOR UNDERSIDE OF A WATER DAMAGED SLIDE?

Steve,
On both my 00 Marquis and 012 Contessa the slide carpet was wrapped around the edge of the slide so I left it as is. I think you probably need to leave the flap unless you can neatly cover the edge of the slide with the new flooring material and have it fit when the slide is both extended and retracted.

Hi Steve,
The person that bought our 2008 Contessa replaced the carpet and tile and I believe they did a laminate. I was really impressed with the way they did the slide and got rid of the carpet flap. He posted the pictures on the FB Beaver Fans page. I’ll send you the link thru FB.
