Title: Repairing or Replacing Magnum Chassis Torque Rods

Just added "Repairing or Replacing the Torque Rods found on the SMC Magnum eight air bag chassis used by Beaver & Safari in model years 1996-2002" to the Common Problems. Access it on the BAC website under the Technical tab. Thanks to Eric MacLean for supplying the info and photos.

I attempted to remove my torque rods some time ago but the impact wrench wouldn't budge the nuts. I removed the remains of the original dust seals, cleaned up the ends of the bushings and packed the entire area with a very stiff grease which prevents dust and dirt from getting to the bushing. I put a pipe wrench on each of the torque rods every year to make sure they move freely and repack the grease about every 2 to 3 years. It seems to be working OK so far. A bit tough for an old codger to get into all the required spaces laying flat on a dolly under the coach, but so far it works. A truck suspension shop wanted $4000 each to replace them about 10 years ago. I said no thanks.
