I tried a search on the subject, and couldn't find an answer.  My electric step is dead.  It will not retract.  I checked both fuses, and they are good.  Monaco has given me some ideas on how to trouble shoot the control module and the motor, but I am hoping for some real world advice. Anyone have any experience with these steps.  It doesn't work even when the ignition key is turned on.  There is also no light on the control switch on the dashboard.

Do you have the Kwikee brand on an '07?  If so, you can download a trouble shooting guide or I can e-mail it.

Bill, I'm not sure what model I have, but will check tonight when I get home.  I plan to try to trouble shoot it tomorrow morning, while I wait for the DirectTV service dude, to come tell me why my new dish setup will not get local channels.  I love having a motorhome.  It keeps me from being bored! :)

Generally I see two types of step.  One extends like cabinet drawers do.   The other, made by Kwikee, sort of sweeps out from under the door and is less sophisticated looking than the first.

I might be better at explaining DirecTV local channels than your steps!  Basically true locals are on spot beams transmuted from the satellites.  The beams focus on the town and area around it where the broadcast originates.  The service is intended for stationery stick houses, not mobile accounts.   DirecTV used to be very nice about changing your "service address" location as you travel and signaling your receiver to accept the locals on spot beams.  The FCC says they can't do that anymore.  The solution is to learn how to get your TV to switch over to your "over the air" antenna for locals.  DirecTV can offer you, for an extra fee, the locals from New York or Los Angels where ever you are.  They call that "Distant Network Service" or DNS.

After trouble shooting the steps, I found that my control module is shot. I ordered a new one from Monaco. BOY, are the proud of them!. Bill, thanks for the info about the local channels, but I'm parked in my barn at my house. I had the same problem in the stick house not too long ago, and there was a problem with my system caused by a nearby lightning strike. The directtv dude should be here this morning to find out why my new dish isn't finding the correct satellites. I'm ususally pretty good with the satellite system, since I have had plenty of occasions to fix it, but this one has me, and the Tech people buffaloed. Especially since I have a very strong signal on all three satellites.

If you google the ma manufacturer of the steps or what ever you are repairing you should find a cheaper source such as PPL Motorhomes.
