2000 patriot concord
Are the gutters supposed to have holes in them ? There are holes drilled in mine at the front and back of the slide and about the same place on the passenger side. Why have gutters if there is holes in them.

That is a good question my coach has no slide outs but it too has holes drilled in the gutters ahead of the mail awning .
The only reason I could see for doing this is to drain water off before it gets to the front door because the gutters don't go far enough to get past the door and end up draining on the door and set depending on how level the coach is .
I like to keep the coach set up almost level with the nose down slightly ( makes sleeping a little better ) but this also makes the A/C condensate drain off

A trick I learned from the Internet to help move that water out and away from the coach is to use an alligator clip with a small piece of brass tube approx 10" long connected to it and just clip it on the end of the gutter the small amount of water will then find it's way down that alligator clip and through the tube routing it away from the coach the tube can be bent slightly to direct the flow.
The only down side is you have to climb up on the roof to install and remove before travel.

Mine also has a hole drilled in it about 1/3 the distance from the back. I also have no real clue as to why it is there. Like Eric I use gutter extensions and my front is usually slightly down. I also use a light weight plastic gutter splash guard that I angle under the coach and the water mostly splashes into it and drains away from where I step. If the wind is blowing then all bets are off.

Well I was just wondering somebody knows why..I’m just glad the past owner did not do it..thanks

My 2002 Beaver Patriot has a short gutter piece, approximately 6 inches long, that runs from the forward edge of my Girard awning to connect with another gutter piece which makes a gradual curve above front corner of passenger door and down the side of coach approximately 2 feet. This short piece of gutter has a hole in it which allows water to drip across the door opening. This hole is perfectly circular and appears to be about ½ ” in diameter.
