Title: Shore Power Inlet

Quick question concerning the shore power inlet wiring.

Is the transfer switch installed before or after the 50A main??

I'm trying to track done a slight inbalance in the power line that is causing my garage GFI to trip.  Trips even with the 50A main breaker open.  Works fine on a non-GFI circuit.  I don't think there is a significant problem but my curiosity is up.

The transfer switch is before the 50A main breaker.

Thanks Gerald, that's kind of what I figured otherwise the gen set would be behind the main breaker but I just wanted to double check.

Dick, previous threads here have made note that all GFCIs are not equal.  You might do a tag or regular search (enter "GFCI" or the misnomer "GFI") of the Forum to check out brand and source recommendations from those that have been there, done that with an issue like yours.  Most talk about onboard GFCIs, but the discussed concepts would apply to household circuits as well.
