Title: Ignition switch does not stop C12
Post by: Jeremy Parrett on October 26, 2011, 03:43:52 AM
Tonight when I switched off the C12, it just kept running........until I switched off the dash air conditioning!!
Anyone got any ideas ????
I restarted with the dash a/c running, and when I switched the ignition off, the C12 kept running, until I switched off the dash a/c !!!! :-/

On mine it was the headlights.  Not every time, but now I shut the headlight switch off first.

Could these be caused by loose grounds and backfeeding through the ignition or fuel cutoff? The fuel cutoff stays open when power is applied and cuts off fuel when switched off.

It might just need a new switch.  I think there is a previous post with replacement information.

Tonight in Balmorhea, TX, after a 400 mile drive, the C12 cut off when the ignition was turned off.  Going to check the fuel cuttoff switch and grounds, when we get to San Diego CA
Thanks for the input.

It is more than likely the AC relay, since it shuts down when you turn the AC off.  You can try just swapping the relay with another one near it, just make sure it is the same number.  Let me know, if you need to know where it is.
