Title: Brake light
Post by: Frank Bannert on November 06, 2011, 04:09:08 PM
I have a '02 Patriot with the 3rd brake light above the rear opening in the center. They are 1/2" x 13 3/4" and one works and the other doesn't. Can anyone tell me where you can purchase these type of lights. They are led lights. I have revervsed the connections and one only works and also replaced the blade connectors to no avail. Is there a way to check these?  Perhaps I am missing something that can fix the problem without replacing the light.

Frank,
If your third stop light is original to the coach, it is not a LED (light emitting diode), but it has several small incandescent lights in each unit, and they do burnout. The last one that I purchased was from Beaver Coach Sales in Bend.

Jim Nichols found an LED replacement that he has installed on several coaches. Even though it is not an exact match, it is close enough for most people. He discussed it in this post. http://forum.bacrallies.com/m-1318076203/

Try ( http://vehiclelight.com/25244.html ). On Lamar Keck's coach I pulled the originals and covered the elongated holes with this 15" style. Much brighter.
