I was in touch with Jill Stevens a while back. She was the person that ended up with some orphan 2000 Beaver Monticello owners manuals when she and her husband bought their coach.
She is willing to scan and PDF copies of all the manuals she has.
Was there a final decision as to where these files should go on the forum? It would be nice to have a central location set up by year, style, engine, appliance and so forth.
I have quite a few PDF files that I can upload today. I am sure that there are a few others that would not mind uploading what they have also.
As the years go by and our coaches change hands, there are a lot of opportunities for the original manuals to be lost. In our case, it being a repo, I imagine the glee of the owner as he tossed the books in the garbage and said " HA! Figure it out yourselves! "

Setting up a section of the forum to store PDF files of owner's manuals will have to be created in the same manner that the BAC directory was handled. The forum software will not accept PDF documents. It will only accept pictures, and handling whole manuals as individual pictures for each page is not practical.
I will get with my wife and Tim Bentley, the co-administrators, to see if a section can be set-up on the website where PDF files are accepted, and links to them can be posted on the forum.

I think this is a GREAT idea. I have a 1999 Patriot Thunder manual that didn't get included with the coach when I traded it in and I don't know who the new owner is so I can send it to them.
-
I scanned my manual sometime ago and mailed it to someone can't remember who. Tooo big to email so I sent him a CD, I thought he was putting together for this site. Great idea. I can resend if necessary.

We do have an area that has the manuals "Coach Assist". Steve Rankin and Pete Bradish have been adding info.
I also have a full set of manuals for the 95 Beaver, but it is in storage for Winter.
Coach Assist can be located on BAC home page and select hot button on left that says "Coach Assist".
-
I have never been able to detect any updated/added information on the coach assist area of BAC.....it all seems real old info.

If you have Beaver Manuals that are in PDF format I can make a place for them on the BAC website where they can be viewed and downloaded. It may be a good idea to place them in a members only area, one of the benefits of joining the BAC.
Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to scan a manual that we have. It would be nice if we could build this data base, but scanning a large manual can be a lot of work and the results are not always what you might expect.
Send your contributions to Tim Bentley at the address listed in the BAC directory. We should be able to organize them so they are easy to use.
I have John Gardeners manuals for the 2005 Beaver Santian and will start by posting those.

I'm missing the Magnum Chassis manual from my coach and the one on the top right in this photo which I think says Marquis. I imagine that these may be common manual accross some models and years. Love to have them if a PDF did become available in the future.....great idea.

I have the Magnum C manual here: http://weisstravels.com/resources/2000+Magnum+C+Chassis+Manual.pdf
I also have a 2000 Patriot Owners manual on the same page. If someone wants the Patriot Thunder supplement I can scan and post it, also.

Thank goodness you posted these Joel, we would never have gotten as far as we have without them!

Thanks for several responses that I got for the Magnum C Series PDF, I downloaded it and it will help. The Magnum Air B Series is the actual manual that applies, if that surfaces it will be a good PDF archive.

Tim, do you want us to send the PDF's via your email?

I have the Magnum - B chassis manual. The coach is in storange and I won't be there for about 10 days. I'll grab it when I get over there, bring it to the office and scan it as a PDF to post on the forum.

Does anyone have a Technical Service Manual for the '99 Patriots? The version on coach assist is somewhat useful, but for '94 vintage and significantly different. I have just about every other manual except that one, but would love to get my hands on it, or any good source of wiring , plumbing, etc. diagrams.
-
If you have PDF's manual files that you would like to email to me give it a try, sometimes they are a bit large but we can see what happens.
-
Tim,
Wonderful gesture, much appreciated. I'm in no hurry so whenever you get to it.

So, I tried to attach and send via email a PDF manual that was 18.3 mb. Was still trying to attach 10 minutes later. Gave up on that! Anyone having any luck getting these manuals to Tim?
-
We now have an area where you can view and download the publications that I have received. You will find them on our web site beaveramb.org. Click on the Coach Assist link on the left.
Many of your email programs will not allow large files, or you may not have a fast enough internet connection to allow the files to upload in a reasonable time. We should be able to set up an FTP site on our server that will except large files. Will let you know when it is ready and how to use it. If you have a slow internet service you may be able to use public WiFi. Go visit Starbucks or some other establishment that has open WiFi available.
You can find Free Public WiFi in you area at http://v4.jiwire.com/search-hotspot-locations.htm
Just enter your zip code in the search box upper right corner of the home page.

Your best bet probably is to upload them to something like Google documents or some other "storage in the cloud." Then you can send Tim a link to the document. That's what I did with mine. It's unlikely that many email systems will permit attachments larger than a few MB.
-
Great idea Sandie and Joel. I will check that out.
-
We now have FTP upload capabilities for large files that cannot be sent by many email programs.
This FTP process requires Internet Explorer and a PC computer. If you have a large owner's manual that you would like to share, email me at webmaster.bac@gmail.com for instructions. I will need to verify you BAC membership before sending you the FTP information.

I have never been able to detect any updated/added information on the coach assist area of BAC.....it all seems real old info.
Hi Leah,
The information looks old because we have older coaches listed there, but there is an old BAC member by the name of Steve Rankin that has kept the data up to date and I sent him info not to long ago (it wasn't 1995 LOL). I see Tim can help too. If you need Steve's e-mail, let me know....Mike

Owners Manuals and several equipment manuals for the 2000 Beaver Marquis have been added to our growing list of Beaver publications. These are courtesy of David Henry.
You can view Beaver Publications on our web page beaveramb.org, select coach assist form the menu on the left of the home page.

;D :( :K) :K)I'm looking for a manual on the entry steps for 2007 Beaver Patriot Thunder. The step will not retract all the way. I dumped the hydralic jacks and the step caught on another step I had for my wife. I heard a loud "bang" and the step after that would not retract all the way. It remains out about 3 -4 inches.
Help.

Sounds like you've bent the mechanism, Ed. You're probably going to have to unbolt and remove it either to properly straighten it yourself or take it to a metal-working or machinists shop. As to the manual, you should probably determine what brand of step you have; there may be an identifying logo or plate somewhere. Kwikee is common, but as an adjoining thread entitled "Steps" here on the Forum attests, there is at least one other brand. Once you know the brand, you may be able to find helpful diagrams on the manufacturer's website.

Ed, I have an 07 Contessa which has an SCS/Frigette coach step. My owners manual is not much help with your specific problem. It is very similar to the manual onliine here http://www.strombergcarlson.com/store/products.php?categoryParentName=RV+Steps+%26+Step+Accessories&categoryName=Electric+RV+Steps
This may give you the info you need though.
