On my '04 Monterey, if I pump RV antifreeze through the system, does the Hrdro Hot still need draining?? This system is totally new to me.

Jim,
If you pump RV antifreeze completely through the potable hot water circuit, your HydroHot system is protected. The freeze damage problems with an AquaHot or HydroHot system comes from owners who drain the fresh system to winterize the coach instead of pumping RV antifreeze completely through the hot and cold fresh water system.
If you drain the fresh water system to winterize the coach, there will be some fresh water left in the coils in your AquaHot or HydroHot that you can not remove, even if you blow the lines out with compressed air. The water that is left in these coils can freeze and damage the unit enough to necessitate complete replacement of the unit if the coach is stored in below freezing temperatures.

Gerald, Thanks for the info. I pumped "the pink stuff" until it run out every faucet, one at a time both hot and cold. I should be protected. Thanks again.

The method I use, to be darned sure on the AquaHot, is to open the hot low point water drain valve and then pump the pink stuff through the system until it comes out that opening. I don't have anything else open so then I know that all of the water has definitely been pushed out of the AquaHot. Then I close that valve and get to work on everything else, including the cold low point water drain valve.
