Title: cable coax reel
Post by: Dave Blystone on January 06, 2012, 12:45:14 AM
Is there a easy way to change the coax on the reel in a 2001 Patriot.   I have isolated the problem of poor tv reception, to the coax, or the reel itself, by hooking up a separate coax directly to the tv, and everything is good.  I believe the coax on the reel is bad.

I believe those reels are a known problem. Poor reception due to losses that are probably related to whatever design they use to allow rotation and still transfer signal. On my coach it was bypassed and a plate with a barrel connector was installed. That may be your best bet, just eliminate it with a connection from the coach coax that now goes to the reel being moved to a wall plate with a barrel connector placed on the panel.

Mine was bypassed in the same manor.
