Title: thermostat has no power
Post by: Jim Shunkwiler on January 11, 2012, 05:09:30 PM
I HAVE A 06 MONTEREY.  COULD SOMEONE HELP ME WITH MY PROBLEM. MY FRONT THERMOSTAT ACTS LIKE THERE IS NO POWER. I HAVEN'T  CHECKED  POWER  FROM THE CONECTION BUT THE DISPLAY WON'T COME ON. MY REAR THERMOSTAT WORKS FINE. EVERTHING ELSE SEEMS TO BE WORKING. I'VE CHECKED BREAKERS AND CAN'T FIND ANY TRIPPED IN THE BATHROOM. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO. :-/

I hesitate to ask this . . . but . . . it is turned on, right? Stranger things have happened to me.

You should measure (one way or another) if there is power coming to the thermostat to try and isolate if this is a coach issue or a bad thermostat. The easiest method would be to exchange the bedroom thermostat and the living room thermostat to sort that out.

The thermostat is powered by 12V so it's likely controlled by a fuse and not a circuit breaker.  As for the on/off switch I can tell you the thermostat will not not work in the off position.  Don't ask me how I know...

Thank you gentleman for the suggestions. I will try switching the front to back. I will also try flipping that switch a few more times to make sure I'm doing it right. I did also check the fuses as well as the breakers. Thanks again guys.
