Title: Saab on tow dolly question
Post by: Ted Couch on February 26, 2012, 05:42:03 AM
We have a 2004 Saab 9-3 that we want to take with us when we finally head south next January. We are planning on using a tow dolly but wonder whether we will have a problem with the car being so low in front. We attempted to drive it onto a dolly several months ago and could not get it more than part way up before it would have scraped the bottom of the car. We were told if we tried longer ramps creating a more gradual load it might work. Does anyone have one of these unofficial Low-Riders they tow on a dolly? We are thinking the Roadmaster is a brand we would select if we find out we really can get the car on it.

Ted;

I have a 2000 Volvo S70, that has an air dam across the front, so that when I load on the Roadmaster 2000-1 dolly, I need to put a piece of 2x8 under the end of the ramp, just to avoid what you have described.  Works well.  I need to carry the 2x8 to put under the jacks on the Beaver, so nothing extra involved.
