Title: norcold not working

We took the grand kiddies on a spring camping trip.  Everything went good until we got home and I plugged in the coach.  The Norcold would not start to run on ac.
We have had the updates done.  There is ac to the Norcold.  It works on gas just fine.  Any thoughts would be very nice.

Had the same problem.  Electric heating elements shorted out and quit working.  Replaced elements and it works fine.  These elements are not covered by Norcold.  At least mine was not.  Parts and labor run $235.   Jim

Did you check the breaker on the 50 amp main panel (not the inverter panel)?  The gas side uses a 12v ignition as does any digital control panel, so that would work even if 120v was out.

Same thing happened to us.  Turned out that one of the wires on the "bypass" came loose.  Easy fix.

According to the service manual you check that there is AC at the outlet, check the fuse and, if the fuse is OK, you replace the circuit breaker.  

I had to do it on mine a couple years ago and I "assisted" Dave Hiatt a few weeks ago at Havasu.   Both of us used an aftermarket replacement board from a company called "Dinosaur"

The fues you are looking for is on the circuit board that is behind a black plastic cover.  If it blows or doesn't firmly fit the fuse holder you will get the "No AC" code.  Getting to the cover and removing it is not real easy.  

I have the service manual in a .pdf and can email it to you.  (On edit:  I sent the service manual file to Tim Bentley.  He will have it on the BAC Website under "Coach Assist" in a few days.)

There is power to the norcold so its not the breaker in the box.

Thanks for the file.   Checked the fuse its good guess.  I will have to check the ac heaters next.  The manual says the board is bad, if it has power and no output, but I will still check the heaters.

If you want to talk to a current and recent expert, phone Dave Hiatt.  He did what you are doing, determined he needed a circuit board, ordered one and replaced it himself.  His number is in the BAC directory.

I had the same failure.  First fix was to replace the heaters, $40 each, plus 10 min to install.
