Title: Nevada Routing
Post by: John Fearnow on May 18, 2012, 10:33:44 PM
WE are currently in Fallon, NV.  Tomorrow we leave for Bend, OR for work at BCS as well as RV Outfitters.  The garmin recommends NV 447 from Fernly to Gerlach NV and then crossing into CA and hitting CA 299 shortly before meeting US 395 just North of Alturas, CA.  NV 447 and CA 299 are both secondary paved roads according to the map.  Does anyone have experience on this route?  The alternative is to go into Reno and head north on 395 from there.  447 is a little shorter and if it is safe I'd prefer going a way we haven't seen before.

Thanks

John, We just went the route to Bend in March that you need to go. Take ALT 50 to I-80 thru Reno, then 395 all the way to Alturas, then 299 to 139  that turns to 39 in OR, then 97 on into Bend,=. DO NOT take 139 by Eagle Lake, as we tried coming back. Bad secondary road. Henry
