Title: battery removal
Post by: neil omalley on July 03, 2012, 01:08:03 AM
Hey all: I thinking I'd like to remove all my batteries, scrape and paint the tray and reinstall.  How long ( if at all ) can the coach go without electric power before it starts to shut down memory items like Alladdin, transmission etc, etc.  Do you have to reprogram EVERYTHING after reinstalling the batteries? Thanks

As far as the engine and transmission go the ECUs write to flash memory and should be able to be disconnected without issue. I am not sure about the Alladin but most modern electronic systems are designed to live without outside power in an an off state without issues. A call to the manufacturer may be able to clear that one up.

Neil,
Removing the batteries should cause no problems with the memory of any of the operating systems in your coach. You may want to throw a blanket over the solar panels to safeguard against against any sparking.
