My CMP 10 is telling me I have a fault in the solar panel control .
I also have a PC board failure in my Coleman basement Air Conditioner as well as the Xantrex Echo charger. All probably caused by stray current from a nearby lightning strike.
I now have a TRC Surgeguard Protector.
Does anyone know where the solar panel control PC board is located?
Is there a fuse on this or on the Xantrex Echo Charger pc board??
Thanks, Jeremy

On my coach, the solar control box is located in the bay on the wall above the water pump housing. It is a silver box about 5"square by 1" deep. On top is a fuse.
The Echo charger has a fuse in-line of each wire connected to it.
I hope that solves your problem.

Larry,
I will look for the solar control box fuse. That is likely blown. I already changed the fuses in the Xantrex Echo Charger.......still no life . I have ordered a replacement.
The CMP unit is showing 15.5 to 16 volts......yet the Prosine control panel above the entrance door shows 13.4 volts, which is correct. Could the CMP have an issue as well?? Hope not.
Thanks for your help. Jeremy

This may be the time to buy a voltmeter. Check the voltage at the batteries. Also check the voltage at the Echocharger. Did you try turning off the CMP to reset it?

Hi Larry,
Coach plugged in to 50 amps 115 volts ac. Voltage at the Echo charger was 13.6 volts...input....no output. Voltage at the chassis batteries was 12.9. Didnt measure the coach batteries. Will do that tomorrow. Prosine panel measures 13.6 volts.
Turned the CMP 10 off and on ......still same voltage...15.6 to 16.0 volts. Does the CMP 10 measure the voltage from chassis or coach batteries ?? Where is the sensor?

Jeremy,
My batteries (house) are 13.5, CMP 13.5, Prosine 13.0-13.75 step on range scale. The CMP measures the house batteries. I would try pulling the CMP panel and unplugging it, then re-power it, before giving up on it. I do not know where the CMP picks up that reading, but it may be near the inverter. Look for another silver box. There are several around the bays. That box may be bad. My solar controller quit working, and I added another solar panel and tied all of them to another controller with a remote readout for volts and amps. I have constant readout on the house batteries from that remote.

Hi Larry,
I checked the coach today. It is raining and windy (Isaac). Chassis batteries measured with voltmeter are at 11.9 volts, so I put a 2 amp trickle charger on them until the new Echo Charger arrives. The coach batteries measured with a voltmeter are at 13.2 volts; the Prosine reads 13 - 13.75 volts and the CMP is reading 15.9/16 volts. This tells me the CMP sensor is shot. When the weather improves I will go looking for the silver box.
After the electrician is finished installing the Coleman basement ac blower, I will get him to check every piece of equipment that has a PC board, including the C12 computer,Silverleaf, HWG Leveling, etc. These may have also been affected by the lightning strike. A good thing we have Good Sams Extended Service Gold Plan.
Is there anything else you can think of I should check ??

Jeremy,
It seems you are on the right track. You may want to check out . . . of Florida until the hurricane and lightning seasons are over. :)
