Title: Tape heat
Post by: Tom and Pam Brown on October 18, 2009, 07:54:59 PM
Curious,
what is the tape heat switch in the rear bay on the wall of the tanks?
I think it is for some sort of system heat but when i switch it on it does not illuminate the light?
Thanks
By the way it is in a 1999 marquis tourmaline

On my 2003 Monterey the heat tapes are thermostatically controlled in addition to the on/off switch.  The light is only on when the thermostat is calling for heat.  :)  The tapes are wrapped around  some exposed water lines in an unheated storage bay.   :)

In my 2001 it is for the heat tape on the slide out plumbing.  The hoses are exposed to the outside air, thus are protected by the heat tape.  The bulb in the indicator could be out.  Plug a light into the outlet and check to see if you have power there when the switch is on.

Also, There is a cord underneath the front bay where the slideout is and the cord looks like rope.
anyone know what that is?
