Title: ALPINE CVA-1003

I HAVE A ALPINE CVA-1003 IN MY '03 MARQUIS. THE POP-UP SCREEN DISPLAYS A THE ECM DATA, NAV SCXREENS, ETC. IT IS IN THE SHOP FOR THE 2ND TIME. THEIR TECH REP TELLS ME THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT. HAS ANYONE REPLACED ONE OF THESE UNITS, AND WHAT WITH?

My 1003 Model was replaced, under warrenty in 2004, with the 1004 Model, with no problems since. Don't know if that Model is still available now.  Henry

John,

I have a Alpine CVA-1003 in the original box that I took out of my 2002 Patriot.  It still works fine but the pop-up screen does not close fully on its own.  Anyway, to the other issue of replacing this unit.  Many others have faced the same situation.  IMHO, all pop-up screens in singe DIN chassis style radio/monitors fail for many reasons.  After three (3) replacements, I now have just a standard single DIN AM/FM w/remote (for the DW) and a seperate monitor for the rear camera.  I think this is the best solution (and cheapest) for your problem.

BTW, you are welcome to my CVA-1003 for the cost of shipping....
