Title: Dometic 1402a with warm Freezer
Post by: Sean Donohue on June 08, 2013, 03:04:11 AM
My freezer will not get very cold, barely freezing. Indicator say 30/33. There was Ice on the rear metal vanes and I defrosted it yesterday but no real change. Any thoughts besides replacing the fridge?

Sean,
What temp is the refrig section running? A hot/humid environment and poor air flow over the coils will reduce efficiency a lot. Make sure the fans above the coils are both running (pretty sure your coach has them). DO NOT stick a screwdriver, etc, toward the fans. Use a flashlight and/or mirror. Speaking from experience, if you break a fin from one of the fans, you'll have all kinds of fun replacing the fan by feel.

This morning the Fridge side is at 33, Freezer side is 28... I will check on the fans today.

So any ideas about the freeze? I do have the ER 13 code but it was working fine. I have been holding off on fixing the ER 13 because I had read the fridge will work fine but need a manual defrost..
