Title: Hydrohot help
Post by: Robert Mathis on June 15, 2013, 04:10:37 AM
My hydrohot has quit today. It has been working just fine until this morning when we had no hot water on Electric. The low voltage light was on, and I reset it accorfing to the book. I thought that fixed it, but tonight, no hot water again. I tried my diesel burner which lit, but then went out soon after, and now won't light again. The blower runs and fuel is flowing, but no igntion. I just serviced it before we left and it was burning clean and hot. We are in Dubois Wyoming, on the way to Alaska. Anyone have any thoughts or do any of you know of a repair facility in this area?

Robert,
Assuming you have antifreeze in the expansion tank, you may want to try jumpering the low fluid cut off sensor. If it goes bad, the unit won't run regardless of how much fluid is in the unit. I think you can jumper it on the control board; pins 15-16 on JP3 according to the shop manual. I'll send you a copy via email.
Also, you may want to do a search on Ormond Claxton. He's the hydro hot expert.
Good Luck. Steve
