Title: Under cabinet interior light bulbs
Post by: Larry and Heidi Lee on December 01, 2009, 11:32:28 PM
05 Beaver Monterey Bayview 34- Does anyone know the bulb wattage of the under cabinet 12VDC halogen 2-post light bulbs located under the interior kitchen and pantry cabinets? The bulbs removed from my coach are unmarked..I picked up a couple 20w bulbs from a local lighting store pn: Q203/F but just thought I would ask the experts...(I dont like to bother the guys at Beaver for stuff like this)

Our '05 Monterey Laguna had all 10 watt 12VDC halogens throughout...you don't want to replace with 20 watt bulbs - they will melt the lens and housing...been there done that!

I just located them on web at Light Bulb Emporium for $1.50 each plus $7.49 shipping for any quantity.  Will be ordering a  dozen or so since we seem to go through 6 or so per year.  Link to web sight is in "Sources for  Suppliers...." on entry dated Feb 1, 2009.   Phone 1-888-777-0649.  Hope this helps.

I have a 2000 Marquis and all of the halogen lights are 10 watt. On my coach the light socket has " 12V 10W " written in the socket at the base of the bulb.

Our Marquis has 40 halogen lights (ceiling and under cabinets), and we buy them online for $.85 each (delivered) in quanites of 25 or more.

Wow what a great response! I will return the 20W lamps and order the 10W lamps as advised. I did notice the "Legs" on the 20W lamp are too large in diameter to fit the female sockets probably to prevent people like me from experimenting and melting the fixture as someone mentioned. Thanks for the response everyone!

Have found 10w bulbs also at HomeDepot.  Don't recall the price but for sure they aren't as cheap as .85 cents delivered.

Gerald, how about sharing your online source??

We got them on eBay and the seller was "Lightingsaving' and search on him as a seller and then search on 10w and you will find all he has listed - several quantities available. We have bought from him twice and he ships quickly.

Thanks for the tip, Gerald, on the under cabinet light bulbs. I went to eBay as you suggested, ordered 24 bulbs for $10.95 including shipping. I ordered them Dec.7 and received them today, Dec. 12.

How is it Gerald paid .85 per bulb (over 25 quantity) and Louise paid around .40 per bulb (over 25 quantity)from the same site? I must be missing something here and am about to order some bulk bulbs too. :D

The last time we ordered bulbs from Lightingsaving was about a year ago.  We try to get the best deal he has.  Sometimes he has free shipping  and sometimes he has
$5.00 shipping.  Once, it was a better deal to get 30 bulbs rather than 50, so we ordered two lots of 30.

On eBay, click on 'advanced search'; on the left side, select "by seller" and type in his ID: Lighingsaving and click 'search'.  This will list everything that he has listed.  Then, type in 10w g4 and click search.  He lists quantities of 10, 12, 20, 24. There are different prices for the same quantities.  I don't know why there are inconsistencies with his listings.  Just look for the best deal he has.
