Title: Koni Shocks
Post by: Richard Higley on July 23, 2013, 12:24:29 AM
Thinking about replacing my Bilstein shocks on my coach.  I don't like the ride as it porpoises if you hit a good bump or expansion joint. Anyone installed Koni's as replacements?  If so does the ride improve significantly?  Thanks.

Rich

There are several treads about this subject, just do search for Koni. I installed them 60,000 miles ago and after 4 trips to Alaska, they're like new!!! Henry

Put Koni shocks on my coach about 10,000 miles ago and got a very noticeable improvement in ride and handling.

Same for me, installed new Koni's 4 years ago and the ride is outstanding.

Think I'm going to order and install them. I don't have access to my coach right now as it is in storage.  Can anyone confirm that the shocks on Koni's website for tag axle Roadmasters are correct?  Thanks for all your help, and input.

One other question.  Has anyone just replaced the 4 fronts or do all need to be done at the same time?

Can anyone tell me which of the Koni shocks will replace the apparently worn out Bilstein ones on my coach?

I want to replace the front ones --- I presume there are four of them?

What is the model number of the Koni brand to get for my fronts on a 2001 Marquis 40JSP?

Where is the preferred place to order the shocks?

Besides just the shocks themselves are there any other parts that I should hand over to my installer to make this change-over work?

Do I have 10 air bags on my Magnum chassis?

Richard,
I would contact Henderson's in Grants Pass, OR.  They are a BAC advertizer and know what they are doing.  They will be at the Seven Feathers rally.  They put four Koni's on the front of our coach last year.

Thanks Mike.  I have an appointment with Hendersons next week as I will be in the area anyway.  I'm having Konis put on the front for $1,000 less rally discount of $50.
