Kathy,
Sure sounds like shocks as bad ones will cause the bouncing. If the coach sits level the air bags are probably OK. You should be able to find Bilsteins on line for about $100 per and have your shop install them. May be cheaper than having the shop get them. Konis are reportedly better shocks but I think they are considerably more $. Someone else on form maybe able to confirm. If you coach is like my 01 Contessa, it has 6 shocks; 4 in front and 2 in rear. Check to be sure or maybe another Monterey owner can verify.

If I am not mistaken the Bilstein's have a lifetime warrenty. I had one start leaking oil and the sent me one for $70 and reinbursed me when I sent the defective one back. You might try their tech support people.

Kathy, before spending a lot of money on shocks or air bags have someone check the ride height.  We had a 99 Monterey which bounced badly from the day it was new, and the problem turned out to be the ride height adjustment particularly for the front end.  The adjustment is a simple slide mechanism in a rubber bushing which can go bad.  Just a thought.
