I need to replace my LP Detector. It was made by CCI Controls #7719. It is my understanding CCI Controls went of of business in 2009. Is there a special kind of LP Detector I need to be looking for?

Joe,
Unless you have an automatic tank shut off detector, then any brand will work. There is just a negative and positive hookup. You just need tyo finnd one that will fit the opening.
Also, check the expiration date on the new one to make sure you are not buying one that hasd been on someone's shelf. This excpirastion date is something new.

You could ask at Northwest RV Supply (866)678-7467. Also Beaver Coach Sales 800-382-2597.
But you should read this first since you will need to replace the solenoid at the tank (that Dennis alludes to) as well as the detector:

And this is probably the kit you'll need, but it ain't cheap: http://www.thomassonsrv.com/product/70-742-R-KIT/SAFE-T-ALERT-70-742-R-KIT-DUAL-PROPANELP-AND-CARBON-MONOXIDE-ALARM.html
A quick search found some better deals on E-bay; so shop around.

Joel,
You nailed it on the LP detector. I email Safe-T- Alert yesterday and received the same info you gave me. I knew it would cost a few bucks, but was surprised with the $269.00 price tag. The old one is just for LP and the new one is for LP and more.
Thanks for your help. I think the old one still works but it's old and not worth taking the chance it won't work if I ever need it.

Joe,
To save money and resdt eady, you could just install another propane detector if you have room. Keep the shut off detector in place.

The ones on EBay were around $200. Yeah that still seems a bit, but its like on newer coaches, alerting to CO gas too, and includes a new dedicated solenoid fitting for the tank, so you'd be better off all in all.
