Title: Hydro-Hot/ Aqua-Hot

Hello Every one
I am looking for an old Hydro -Hot unit to purchase/ take off someone hands.
I intend to remove the internal copper coil, use it as a template, start making a replacement coil for all these improperly winterized systems,  8)
 Since the factory  refurbishes only one model (AHE100-02S) now. There is a growing demand for these repairs.

Hi Orman,
I'm having mine winterized Monday, so what's the proper way to winterize it? I won't be shy telling them, since they're not shy about charging me more to do it; they've assured me they know how to do it.

Likely they will try blowing waterlines out
ALL lines both Hot and Cold must have antifreeze pumped through. including the washing machine.

Good, that's what I thought!  One company told me they would blow the lines in the Aqua Hot. Not going there!

Gary,

Yesterday I did mine. It took 3-1/2 gallons of the pink stuff. I took the cover off the wall where the water filter, water pump etc are. Unscrewed the water line from the pump. Attached a 2 foot water hose like you can get at HD or Lowes or Ace that is for under your sink at home. (it looks like silver braided hose) Get the one with a 1/2 inch connector on one end. The other end doesn't matter. Stick the loose end in a gallon jug of pink stuff, reach in to the wet bay and turn on the water pump. Have a spotter open the hot and then cold on each faucet and let you know when it runs pink. Have them hold their foot on the toilet flush until pink comes out.

When you're done (10 minutes) dump some in each drain. Re-connect everything and store the hose for next year and you're good to go.

Easy cheezy. $2.67 a gallon at Wally World.

If you have a washer, make sure they pour a cup or two of antifreeze in the drum and run 1 spin cycle.

Hope you find your HHot Orman, so there are more repair options for us all.

Have you tried the salvage yards? Seems like the best place to get a HH/AH coil.

As soon as someone has a leak, we can start the ball rolling,

We went ahead and started a wash cycle til we had pink then did the spin on the Splendide. Bypassed the water heater then blew it out. Could not believe the sludge that came out!
