Title: Heat Tape
Post by: Andy Clark on November 23, 2013, 05:01:22 PM
In our '96 Pat, there's a heat tape installed by the factory that runs along the water pipe(s) from the front center end of the basement to below the water tank (so I've been told). There's a switch under the sink that activates it.
Question- is this heat tape thermostatically controlled? That is, can I leave it switched "on" and it will only activate at some preset low temperature? I just don't want to leave it powered up if it's going to run all the time.

Thanks

Andy

Andy,
None of the water line heat tapes that I have seen on a Beaver coach were thermostatically controlled.

Thanks, Gerald. I'll assume it's not. I'll plug it into one of those "ice cubes" that's "on" at 35deg and "off" at 45deg.

Thanks again.
